I am not sure that's enough for Vancouver to bite

It should be. Goalies very rarely get a 1st round pick on their own. I can think of 3 trades in the last 10 years (Lehner, Schneider, Kuemper).

The Canucks are trying to stay competive trading Demko is a full on rebuild move, Demko is also younger than all 3 of those goalies when traded, There really wouldn't be anyone at 15 we couldn't get with our own pick

If this trade happens, Demko will be 27 at the time of the trade.

Lehner was traded to Buffalo when he was 24, Schneider was 27 as well, kuemper yes was 31.

I dont understand the last point? Its a whole other pick meaning a whole other top prospect.

Decent chance Van is completely unwilling to move Demko. But this is precisely the type of deal they would be looking for if they were to move him, imho

Doubt Van trades Demko. He had a rough start to this year but was unreal the last couple years. No reason for them to trade him especially for that

If Vancouver rebuilds, they absolutely should and again, 3 goalies in the past 10 years have gotten a 1st. This place is so ridiculous sometimes

Schneider was basically a very very good backup. He was only playing like 30 games a season. I’d much rather have a top 10 pick than a mid to late first and Mittlestadt. Canucks also had Luongo which made Schneider much more expendable. Canucks are currently running with an AHL tandem with Demko out

I would highly consider that offer as Vancouver. I am also in the camp that they should trade demko regardless of a rebuild. He has good value as a goalie and most goalies are voodoo. Id move him and grab someone in free agency to run a tandem.
