No not better. You obviously don't follow the Avs. Thanks for trying.

(1) Mikko is a natural RW who has been filling in at C. Doesn't play left wing.
(2) Bednar has said in recent weeks he likes Newhook at wing better than center.
(3) Newhook is averaging 14:55 a game and has only played more than 20 minutes twice. Bednar has his top line guys (inc. Compher lately) during these injuries playing a minimum of 22 minutes a game. There's proof Compher can do that without late game slippage. No proof that Newhook can.
(4) Bednar said today that Nichushkin & Kaut are injured -- MacKinnon will be back before them, maybe as early as later this week.
(5) Even if all 13 forwards you have listed were available, Cogliano, who you don't even have playing, is absolutely in the lineup over any of the players you listed in the 4th line.
(6) A healthy Nichushkin is a top 6 on any team in the NHL, not just the Avs.

Since you took the time to make this, I'll take the time to point out a few flaws in your plan. First, Hook isn't ready for 2c let alone 1c. He is right now a decent middle 6 LWer. Probably ready for 3c. Rants, ERod, and Jt are all better Cs right now than Hook. I'm not talking potential/skill. I'm pointing out current ability. Next, Mikko is 7-1in games right now at 1C and has double the points of anyone else on the team other than our real 1c. Not only replace him with Hook (at a whooping .38PPG), you want to put him in a position, the LW, he has NEVER played in his professional career (including his stint in the AHL).Then you are moving the 2nd best currently healthy forward, Nuke, to the third line in his least effective position the on L side. Lets look to the backend. You broke up on of the best pairs in the league to put two puck movers together and two two-way support D together bogging up our whole D-system. I can go on but those are the highlights. Opps didnt know Nuke was injured. Still not a good move.

Only thing I'll correct you on is that Rants HAS played LW professionally although not much (as you corrected yourself on Nuke lol!)
