Description
Not much going on here. Just letting some young guys fill in the empty spots. Letting Hendricks start opening night, but I'm sure that spot will rotate with Walker and other young guys in Hershey. Tried to keep it real as I don't think too many trades will happen since we will be busy trying to lock core guys up. Orpik's contract would be nice to move, and I'm sure the right deal is out there, but Bowey could use his leadership. Plus his contract will be easier to move next year. If this were to be the line up next year, it's still a playoff quality team, hopefully one that can take the next step.

That's a terrible deal for Oshie. At most I'd sign him for 5 years and that's already too much. And pass on Hendricks, he doesn't bring anything to the table that Walker couldn't, but I guess he's fine as a 13th forward. And Copley is ready for back up duty in the NHL.

I went 7 years so I could get the cap hit to 5.5
If I go 5 or 6 years in sure Oshie will want 6mill+
We are a cap strapped and I'd like as much flexibility as possible, and Oshie is an integral part of the Caps success, so moving on is not an option imo. I mean that's the point, Walker is unproven so bring in a cheap veteran to back him up, I stated that they could rotate unless someone takes the position. I had been using Copley as my backup previous to the injury and he very well could recover and take the spot. I'd like for him to, and Nillson is only on a 1 year deal so it's low risk.
      Eli liked this.
