No they won't send JTC because that weakens them at C, which is what they're trying to strengthen. The proposal here is bad for both teams and probably doesn't warrant as large a discussion as it has lol.

You seem to think replacing Compher with Nelson is a lateral move lol, they would strenghten their C position in an enormous way by doing this trade.

No I don't agree. Timo will be around 28-31 when they are competitive again. It makes sense to keep him when we actually have top prospects like Eklund, Bordeleau, Bystedt, Gushchin, Robins, Havelid, and likely a top 5 pick this year to build around.

You want vets to to still be top players as you come out of a rebuild, which Hertl and Meier will be. Right around that time (3 years) They'll have Burns and Vlasic salaries off the books and only one year left of Karlsson, Couture, and Jones' buyout. That will be right around the time when the top young guys will be getting they're big contracts.

Best case scenario is that the Sharks is competitive in 5 years if they don’t get Bedard. Meier will then be 31, why waste his prime years and also decrease Sharks chances of picking high in the upcoming draft, makes no sense at all. When all of those prospects is hitting their prime, a Dufour in his prime and the prospect taken with Isles pick will be better for Sharks than paying a declining Meier, I really don’t get why you would think otherwise.. Meier, Hertl and Karlsson is currently ’ruining’ Sharks rebuild, you can still have vets on the team that aren’t stars.

Not at all, but adding one whilst making another hole isn't a good plan. This trade doesn't suit the Avs needs and would be bad for the Islanders as well. The Avs can't afford to be subtracting any of their roster players unless it's a massive upgrade. This is not it.

Nelson replacing Compher in the lineup is a massive upgrade lol.

Teams chasing repeats don't generally remove players from a position of weakness who are on their roster to upgrade that same position unless it's 1 for 1, i.e. C plus picks/prospects for better C. Otherwise they just create another hole to fill. Think you're missing the point.

It is 1 for 1 + a pick and a prospect for a better C in Nelson than Compher, what am I missing here?

The point by a million miles. Your argument was just dump guys like JTC to make cap space. Not gonna happen therefore it doesn't work because cap space.

You’re delusional lol, you seem to think Compher is more valuable to the Avs than replacing him with Nelson, your only argument is that Avs already are thin at C, therefore replacing Compher with Nelson would be awful for Avs, though they get a much, much better C.

No, you're delusional in thinking this works for the Avs. Get over the fact your trade proposal simply doesn't work!
