This is exactly what I see Adams doing...making one move for a LD whether it's someone as costly as Ekholm or someone more in line with the Sabres timeline but I wouldn't be opposed to this trade.

I bet Nashville would get more for Ekky. 2023 1st, good prospect, mid round pick or something to make cap work is what I try and stick to

You're trading for Ekholm and you didn't even give us THIS YEARS first. Stop it.
Not to mention the pick is top 10 protected? For next year?

We don't want a 25 year old bottom 4 defenseman, either.

If you want a locked under contract, 6'4, primarily shutdown defenseman who can play 21+ minutes a night and score 30-40 pts a season...
It's gonna cost you a 1st+, and not just some scraps.
