Boeser just isn't worth that cap hit in my opinion

No way, I hate it for the Devils.
Zetterlund is better than Boeser currently and doesn't carry a cap hit above his actual worth.
Given that Björkstrand went for 3rd + 4th, Pacioretty for future considerations, I cannot see the Canucks getting much of anything in terms of value for Boeser at this point in time.

I like it. With some retention, I'd love it.

(But I am higher on Boeser than most other NJD fans).

This is exactly the type of move we should be looking at if we could get Boeser's AAV down.

Agree with what you’ve said about Boessers cap hit, but he’s obviously a better player than Zettrrlund right now has nearly double the points

Nah man, Boeser isn't playing quite as bad as he did before the new year but he is still having a terrible season overall.
Boeser is producing decently yes, but he is still getting heavily outscored, outchanced and outshot at 5v5.
The Canucks are paying a very heavy price for the points Boeser is putting up, and I don't mean that in terms of cap hit but in that Boeser is responsible for giving up more goals against than he facilitates for the Canucks.
It's the complete opposite with Zetterlund, as he contributes heavily to the Devils dominating possession and chances.
It's no surprise that the Devils have a positive goal differential with Zetterlund on the ice.
As forwards they have very different value propositions (Boeser being a shooter vs. Zetterlund being a defensive / possession beast) but Zetterlund is putting up far better results than Boeser and I'd be devastated if the Devils did an one-for-one swap of the two, nevermind the Devils adding to the trade.
