I don't think the point with this Devils team is to contend for a 4-5 period.
I think the point is to be a NHL powerhouse over 10 years +.
Trading Holtz + 1st + Mukhammadulin just to pry the window of contention open one year earlier is very short sighted.

I'd love to get Meier in for this years playoffs, but it has to be the right deal, and this ain't it, chief.

The advanced stats don’t mean sh*t he does not produce at all especially compared to all the guys around him on that list, he is visibly bad at controlling the puck and tries to be Jack Hughes and his defense isn’t that great either, last season he was good if he can be that player fine but he hasn’t been he needs to go
