Edmonton having zero cap space is a simple fact. It's neither optimistic nor pessimistic. It just is.

True, but to think they have 4 RD they like better than Holl is pure insanity. Edmonton has one guy there is still hope for in Bouchard. When you have Ceci and Barrie playing on your top 6 you should welcome almost anyone as an improvement and make changes elsewhere to afford the improvement.

It does not. It's just moving deck chairs. You have added nothing we don't already have and spent a lot of assets to do so.

Henrique and Laughton are HARDLY what we already have. I'll give you McCabe >= Holl and Pulju = Kerfoot, but the other two are big acquisitions

Laughton is a 30-40 point bottom six player. We have several of those. Henrique used to be something. Now he's just a guy that used to be good.

A 30-40 point player with the aspects Henrique brings is exactly what we need.

Henrique isn't the answer or worth this much. I don't know what people hate on Engvall, he's a good player.

Henrique is still a very good and underrated player. On an Anaheim team where everyone looks awful except for him and like one other player

Engvall is okay, high end 4th liner/low end 3rd liner. He's going back for cap reasons.

Barrie and Ceci are demonstrably better than Holl. Replacing either guy with Holl makes the Oilers worse.

Desharnais brings a much needed element (physicality / shutdown ability) which Holl doesn't, while being far cheaper than Holl. Replacing Desharnais with Holl puts them over the cap.

Holl simply doesn't interest Edmonton in the slightest.

You certainly hate the Leafs eh? TO is vastly better defensively and Holl has been a big part of that this season. It's not a debate anymore. Calling Holl bad after 3 straight years of playing well on a top team is just anti leaf bias. And yes there are leaf fans who hate him but those guys always have someone to blame
