depth grit and experience

Description
The Leafs don't have many draft picks and I don't see them giving up Knies for a rental. In that scenario, the best trade asset they have is probably their first round pick and their other prospects. So this could take them out of the market for Meier. I think their need rn is getting a top 6 LW (Tarasenko) which is will push Jarnkrok down and strengthen the middle six. In addition, imo they need one more bottom 6 and I think Acciari is a good fit. Ik they are slightly over the cap so maybe they will need double retention. Also I noticed Tarasenko is a left shot listed as a right wing. Does that mean Nylander moves to LW? Also is team's scoring depth good enough now?

You're gonna need to add something useful, especially if you expect them to eat a retention slot on Cookie.

Do you think they would want back a roster player or do I have to add a prospepct?

Heh. The trick is finding one of either that works. The Leafs have a lot that are too good to ask for and then a lot that are not quite enticing due to size/skating/position or whatnot. Maybe something like Woll or Steeves.

Steeves probably makes sense. Dude is likely ready for NHL minutes, and we don't have a spot for him.

Woll is too important for us right now to consider moving.

Do you think adding Tarasenko and Acciari is enough to round out the team or do we need to more?

My opinion is that forward should be the focus, with a top 6 and bottom 6 addition.

This certainly does that.

Only change is we'd likely need to send back Kerfoot or Engvall in the deal (or make another trade flipping one for a cheaper forward)

Agreed about sending back Kerfoot or Engvall. I think it'll most likely be Kerfoot. However, after dealing Kerfoot I would want another cheaper forward as you mentioned. Another Acciari type target, a low AAV bottom 6.
