The fact that people think they can get Brodie for a 4th is hilarious.
He was one of the top defensive d-men last season. He's an asset. He can play heavy minutes and only makes 5M.
Please stop.

Leafs say no. Zadorov would be nice, but more as a partner for Liljegren tbh.
Leafs don't need Vlader. Samsonov and Woll will be our tandem next season

TOR Off-Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>carterhart</b></div><div>The problem with these deals are people fail to identify what a trading partner is REALLY trying to accomplish in a trade. Philly is rebuilding, simple as that. Briere would rather stockpile picks and prospects then take value over middle 6 guys who’s deals will expire before the team even gets good.</div></div>
The idea is that Philly would flip Jarnkrok. Not keep him for the duration of his deal. Would likely get Philly a strong return at the deadline.
Calling Steeves and Hollowell "useless" is fairly ignorant also (not you, the other poster). They are young nhl ready players. Both have played well when called up. Flyers fans would love the way Steeves plays. Unfortunately there's something among the Internet Hockey Community that unless it's a big name bluechip prospect, its "useless".
Two 1sts, and a player you'll be able to deal for atleast a 2nd, and two young nhl ready players, is a pretty strong return for Konecny.

He's not a buyout candidate. Don't listen to Bozo Frank.
Brodie had a terrific season. Has been terrific all 3 seasons. He and McCabe had positive results when on the ice against Tampa. Yes the 5 games against Florida weren't great for that pairing, but that happens.
Should mention, I don't disagree with the Wings passing, but this deal is overall a massive W for the Wings. They could buyout Murray and flip Brodie for more than they would get for Zadina easily.

Brodie deal is awful. Same with the Jarnkrok deal.
Could get more value for Samsonov.
Vlader deal is interesting. Not sure how CGY values him though.

BRO got that COLT 45
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HeadHighSauce</b></div><div>what's the deal with him? are the leafs looking to move on to create cap flexibility?</div></div>
there's a small section of our fanbase overreacting to the poor 5 games McCabe-Brodie had against Florida. Brodie has been very good for us, including against Tampa and the entire season.
The only thought to Brodie maybe moving is that Treliving tried trading him to us for Kadri, and when that didn't happen, let him walk the following off-season.
But its certainly not a dumping situation. Brodie is a very good player, and frankly, the Leafs shouldn't be moving him at all.

Recovery from Fletcher Era
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bfloyd92</b></div><div>Just because Carter Hart plays behind the worst defence in NHL history does not make him a good goalie. He has a career .906 sv. They would be lucky to get Casey Desmith in a deal for him</div></div>
Carter Hart had a goals saved above expected of 12.93
Ilya Samsonov had 21.24
Carter Hart can be a good goalie behind a good team, issue is, Toronto already has that.
Toronto realistically isn't a suitor for Carter Hart, unless it's a swap of the two goalies

In your dreams maybe.
Ilya Samsonov is objectively a better goalie than Carter Hart. The Leafs have 0 need to trade two first rounds picks for him.
They also have zero need to trade a young player who started playing top 4 minutes for us, for a depth d-man and a 4th round pick lmao
Robertson for Laughton about the only thing that makes sense. A prospect that can use a change, for a third line forward.

Two 1sts for Carter Hart (you won't get that return, but for arguments sake sure)
Liljegren + Robertson for Laughton, Seeler and a 4th (massive L for the Leafs. Liljegren himself outvalues that package).

Nothing like giving up a 1st round pick to turn your 1 year contract issue (Murray) into a 4 year contract issue (Anderson).
Leafs have no interest in that Josh Anderson contract. Even at 4.5M he's overpaid.
Habs can keep that contract is they love him so much

Also your opinion doesnt quantify a players value. The market does. And Anderson's market has always been a 1st rounder minimum. Dont believe that, just ask other fan bases what they thought Chiarot was gonna go for.</div></div>
He's an albatross contract. Stop trying to pretend otherwise.
Calle Jarnkrok also scored 20 goals this year and he makes 2.1M and is much better defensively than Anderson.

Toronto isn't the team giving up the 1st round pick in this scenario. Gonna need to pay to get rid of a forward who could barely outproduce fourth liner David Kampf, who is owed 22 million over the next four seasons. I could only imagine what Hab fans would be asking for if Toronto was trying to trade Josh Anderson their way.
