Testing if it could work

Description
Curious to see if they did acquire Meier if they could resign him. As a NYR, I do not want them to trade away these assets to acquire him and I am not even sure if this would be enough, crazy to think. What does his extension look like?? Does this get it done??

I do think from a depth perspective, the Rangers would really miss Goodrow however this is the only way I see them keeping Chytil and Miller (potentially). This is not just a cap dump, the Rangers got a 5th Rd pick for Reaves, who can barely skate, so they will get something for him. The other option is trading Chytil (which would suck as he is really blossoming) and keeping Goodrow for the 3rd line.

Looks like it would be very hard for them to make it all work. Maybe if they used LTIR loophole.

These seem fine. Leschyshyn is free when in AHL, no team wants him tho IMO. Seems fine for Meier. Goodrow is interesting-- might get a bit more if a team really wants him.

It doesn't work.

The cap won't be that high and you have a 20 man roster

Every time I do one of these, I get more angry with Trouba's contract. Can't believe they paid him that without him ever playing a game for the Rangers. He's like a 5.5-6 mil per season player MAX.

Think you proved that it doesn't work. And Goodrow has a M NTC, he isn't going to any team that has the cap to take him (a poor team)

The only way Meier possibly fits long-term is by trading Goodrow and Lindgren along with bridge deals for the RFAs. It hurts depth too much going forward. Boeser may be the more realistic option if futures are included to pay for salary retention.
