Deadline But All Predictions Are Wrong

Description
Korpi Trade: Pittsburgh probably would've beat NYR last year if Jarry never got hurt. DeSmith has been bad this year, I think Korpi has played very well with a horrific team in front of him. I don't think Pittsburgh is bad and they seem to think they're a buyer this year. Goaltending should be addressed first. This trade doesn't make sense if Jarry is returning soon. He's been out for my fantasy team for a while and I have no clue when his expected return is supposed to be. Pittsburgh still needs to win games if they want a shot at the playoffs

If another team loses their top option or back up I think Korpi could get moved elsewhere.

Gavrikov Trade:
Maybe Edmonton tries to exploit the LTIR idk. I think Nyquist could really help them. They need help defensively and Nyquist provide that in the middle 6. PK, PP wherever. I'd say he's a significant upgrade over Puljujarvi and Gavrikov could help them quite a bit. I don't think the return is insane here. Gavrikov for the 1st and Puljujarvi. Nyquist for 3rd and 7th.

What do we think?

The problem we have with Casey, imo, is that he can't handle a large workload and Jarry's injuries have made him play a larger role than he has in most previous seasons. I'm not sure if Korpisalo is even much of an improvement over DeSmith, if at all, but it's a cheap enough rental that it couldn't hurt (assuming we had the cap space).

Not sure about Edmonton. I'm not high on Gavrikov but if the market says 1st, they might get desperate and bite, and it's clear EDM has had it with Puljujarvi. Isn't Nyqvist out for the season, though?

So it's looking like Nyquist will be ready for the playoffs and probably before the end of the regular season. It was initially reported he was out indefinitely and everybody just assumed full season but I don't think that's the case anymore. If healthy I think Nyquist commands a 2nd+ but with his injury he would be a great option for one of these teams that will make the playoffs comfortably and they can get him at a discount.

I am still figuring out how to respond on here

From everything we have heard around Columbus, he is likely out for the remainder of the regular season, but not for the playoffs. Nyquist has even come out and said that he still intends to play hockey this season, so he sounds like he will be pushing himself for his return.
