Deadline But All Predictions Are Wrong
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Haymaker26</b></div><div>Isn't Nyqvist out for the season, though?</div></div>
From everything we have heard around Columbus, he is likely out for the remainder of the regular season, but not for the playoffs. Nyquist has even come out and said that he still intends to play hockey this season, so he sounds like he will be pushing himself for his return.

Jarmo laughs his ass off after hanging up the phone. He may even hold a press conference just to share his laugh with the rest Columbus.

I really don't see the Jackets going out for veteran wingers during the offseason. The kids need to play at some point.

Heres Jenners value
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dk325</b></div><div>We know his worth, but that price isn't worth trading him for and the Jackets don't want to trade him to begin with. We're basically saying, if you want to have this conversation about trying to acquire the Jackets captain, you need to bring a ridiculous package to the table that will make you as equally uncomfortable with acquiring Jenner as the Jackets are with the concept of trading him away. </div></div>
This exactly. The Jackets have no plans to trade away Boone. At all. But it seems like many GM trades on here lately have him being traded away from us. Which then brings all of the Jackets fans laughing to the comments. We know that he isn't worth x, y, z realistically, but we don't plan on him being traded anyways. So whenever we see trades involving Jenner, we almost always unbelievably raise the costs of a trade to a level at which other teams would obviously deny it. None of these trades are realistic. And at the same time, none of the trades involving Jenner on this site are realistic anyways for the Jackets.

Jackets Deadline
1. That seems like too much for the Leafs.
2. The Kings are probably not the destination for Korpi. If he goes anywhere, I would see him going to a team on the outside looking in, like the Blues. I could see a 3rd or 4th for Korpi if going to a team like that, but the 5th may be the best if he goes to a team as a 3rd goalie.
3. Since Nyquist got injured, his trade value may have gone up (since he can go on LTIR, which you even mention) from the initial asking price, which was hovering around a 1st. A 5th and 7th is kind of an insult. I'd rather us keep and resign him for a short deal rather than for a 5th and 7th.

This CBJ trade is a joke already since Peeke has already resigned. However, if Columbus ever goes after a Foote, there is a decent chance Jarmo will be chased out of town.

Probably would be better if it was a shorter term or less AAV. With both of these? Feels like it's too big a deal. Those last couple of years may really hurt the Isles.

Would I want Robertson on the team? Yes. Is it going to happen? No. Especially at that cost to trade for him. Also, we'll have to pay to trade away Nyquist. Love the dude, but Jarmo would have kept Bjorky in a heartbeat if Nyquist could be traded as a positive value.

I'd imagine that the Rangers would match the OS, and I also think we can get more from Robinson than a 2025 7th. Even so, I like Robi. He brings a lot of energy, and he is super fast. It would be hard to replace him in the PK.

Jackets 22-23
If Johnson is doing amazing in the AHL (like I expect) and Bemstrom isn't doing well, I'd expect a trade from Bemstrom immediately to make room for Johnson. Other than that, I think switching Peeke and Boqvist is better. Peeke needs more time to develop before he can truly succeed as a Top 2D

I read something a few days ago (I think on the Blue Jackets reddit page) that said that Gudbranson did not know that Gaudreau was coming to Columbus until right before he signed. As Ajp_18 mentioned, it was mainly other players that got him to sign in Columbus. The big one that made the most headlines was Atkinson. Given that he plays for the Flyers, it was a surprise for many that he encouraged Johnny to go to Columbus.

Penguins Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan89</b></div><div>Keyword “could”
You’re mostly paying for what they did with the current team and hope that they play just as well, if not better for your team. The pens are trading a backup with a sub 3 GAA and above .900 save percentage and a 2nd for a guy who has an above 3 GAA and sub .900 save percentage. And the pens are the team adding the 2nd. It just doesn’t make sense.</div></div>
Look at the Jackets this year. They have played with almost all new defensemen. They either win or lose high-scoring games this year. It makes the goaltenders look worse when there are no defensemen to help clear the crease/center of the ice. If Korpi plays with good defensemen, then you can rely on him to be consistently good.

Ignoring the 8 year deal for Nyquist, 7 year deal for Domi, the lack of Johnson or any other rookie, why is Eric Robinson a first-line winger over Laine? I like Robinson. I really do. But in no universe does he take a top-line spot over Laine.

That Mrazek contract is a little iffy, particularly because I'd like to see Tarasov splitting the starts with Elvis. Still, I honestly wouldn't have a problem either throwing him on waivers for someone to claim for free, or working out a trade to somewhere else with retention.
I could see CBJ being a middle-man on a trade with EDM or someone, retaining a chunk for them for a 2nd/3rd.</div></div>
Exactly this. This feels like a home run deal for Columbus. I am completely willing to do this.
