I don't think Mikkola takes a pay cut.

To be fair neither do I but if he doesn’t, he walks and we have jones instead. No complaints

Think you're dreaming that Goodrow is leaving. His M NTC eliminates any team with cap that could take him without sending cap to the back to the Rangers.

he is a player who can play any forward position in the middle 6 and can be on the pk. his only downside is the term to be fair.

True, but his M NTC makes him a really difficult trade. Teams that he would willing to be traded to, without sending cap back to the Rangers, can't afford his contract either (like the Rangers)

i agree. im not way too familiar with other teams cap situations but in my opinion, he seems like he can fit on most teams player and persoanlity wise. if you know better, can you include some teams that would be fits?

Goodrow at 3.6m is fair, but he is "easily" replacable at that price. Heck the Leafs 2.1m Jarnkrok who was signed as UFA last summer fills a similar role. Can't imagine any team in the Atlantic....maybe even the Eastern Conference would want to help Rangers and their cap. Most good teams are cap strapped, I really can't think of one that would like his cap...without sending cap to the Rangers (which defeats the purpose of the trade_. And certainly their are some poor teams with cap....Montreal, Arizona, that wouldn't be on his trade. Just the Sabres, Devils and Wings are good teams with cap might have an interest.

The buyout is more immediately beneficial since it provides more cap space for 2 seasons than his cap hit and the subsequent payouts after are all manageable. It seems like it was designed to be bough out.
