Description
The Western Conference is wide open. This trade fixes the LAK biggest problem this year and sets them up for the future. With B level goaltending, the Kings can make the WCF, maybe the SCF.
Time to make a move and go on a run!

Take out the 2023 first and Madden and I could see us doing that. Chychrun isn't worth two firsts, a roster player, an A prospect and a B prospect. He's worth one major asset more than what Kevin Fiala cost us, i.e., what Bo Horvat cost the Islanders.

Agree, but the Kings have a glut of prospects and by making this move, I believe it puts them in position to challenge in the short term and the long term. Need to go over the top, finish this deal, before an EDM or other rival swoops in. This deal doesn’t truly hurt their future, since 80% of the roster is 27 years old or younger.

Just because you have the assets, doesn't mean you should use them to overpay. Including two extra assets in this trade means the Kings are now two assets short when trying to fill in future gaps in the lineup.
