Trades
1.
EDM
  1. Gallagher, Brendan
  2. Plekanec, Tomas
  3. 2017 2nd round pick (MTL)
Additional Details:
Plekanec was horrible last year and this is a cash dump for the Canadians. He clears up 6 million. Canadians have more cap space to work with. Almost 4 million this year and Emelin will be off the books next year.
MTL
  1. Eberle, Jordan
  2. Khaira, Jujhar
  3. 2017 1st round pick (EDM)
  4. 2018 3rd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Oilers take Plekanec to get the deal done and he's on a one year contract. Opens up cap space for next summer and McDavids new contract. Do the Oilers need to send more to get this done?
2.
EDM
The Oilers will receive Travis Hamonic in this deal. The knights take Hamonic from the Isles in the dispersal draft or maybe they trade him during or before the draft for a player the Knights pick than flip Hamonic to Edmonton. I just really think Hamonic ends up in Edmonton.
    VGK
    1. Caggiula, Drake
    2. Letestu, Mark
    3. 2017 3rd round pick (STL)
    Additional Details:
Vegas gets a young and up coming player in Caggiula, which Mcphee stated is the exact kinda player they are looking for. Letestu provides leadership and could be the Knights Captain.
    3.
    EDM
    1. Hamonic, Travis
    Additional Details:
See Oilers/Vegas trade for full detail.

Streit signing is because of the Sekera injury. I think they are pretty much the same player. When Sekera comes back Streit can be limited. Hopefully a rested Streit can really help in the playoffs and if an injury does take place we'll need him.

That Hamonic trade is so unrealistic where did you even think of that from, Hamonic's not being left unprotected if that's what you think

Read the comments in the Vegas trade. I agree with you. I'm sure a deal would go down between the three teams and most likely it'll be the day of the dispersal draft. I'm sure Vegas will trade a player they receive or a 3 way deal takes place with them and Edmonton. However, the Isles will lose De Haan or Hamonic if a deal is not made. The won't get as much for them in a trade because other teams know they can't protect them all. look at the Bishop trade. Pittsburgh(Fluery) and Anaheim(Vatenan) are in similar situations.

The Islanders can easily protect both De Haan and Hamonic so no, theyre not in similar situations and no, their trade values arent lower

TSN wouldn't agree with you. They have them losing De Haan and keeping Leddy, Hamonic and Boychuk who has a NMC. I think Leddy is a must for them as well. You don't?

Would be hard to lose Letestu but for Hamonic it would be worth it.

I think that is way to much for Montreal, all the Oilers are getting is Gallagher and renting Plekanec.

If we can do it for cheaper, that would be great. However, the 6 million cap hit of Eberle is gonna hurt us in any trade. Gallagher is the exact kinda player the Oilers need and I'd overpay a bit to get him. I believe he's from Edmonton as well.

Ya, I wasn't sure how much to pay a guy who's 38 or 39 and very injury prone at this time in his career. How much do you think?

And expose Nelson and Strome. I doubt that very much.

Most Isles fans would be completely fine with the Isles exposing one of those 2, expecting Nelson to be taken which Isles fans would love considering he completely disappears after November. And it would be a hell of a lot smarter to go the 3F/5D route than the 7F/3D route. Regardless, nobody on the Isles lost value.

They'd have to expose them both according to your list. And pretty much every hockey writer or network is saying the opposite. They are all saying it's 7-3 and the isles will lose a d-man. I love the fans and all, but I trust guys like Dreger, Bob Mackenzie and Elliot Friedman and many others a little more.

I am interested in what you think they can get for Hamonic. Considering he had an off year. 14pts in 49 games and -21.

Yeah expose both is what I meant, and those guys dont follow every team thoroughly. Isles writers Ive seen said they would have no problem going 3/5 if a deal isnt made. Would rather lose (most likely) Nelson than the position they struggled the most in this year

    That's fair and makes sense.

They'd be put in corner if they don't make a trade. I'm sure Vegas takes Strome if that happens.

So if they do make a trade, I'm still interested in how that might look. What are your thoughts?

I think they'd take Nelson, 3 straight 20 goal seasons and Strome has been so inconsistent.

If the Isles and Oilers make a trade for Hamonic, would have to imagine it involves one of RNH or Eberle if that's what youre asking.
