Tavares moving Brodin/Dumba/Scandella

Here's what i see is Tavares is the end of his contract since Snow isn't going to want to pay him, he'll shop him. Dumba has Burnsie like potential and a cheap contract, Snow takes the gamble since he cant pay the Tavares money. Snow takes the best offer he sees.</div></div>
This is the worst explanation for that trade I think ive ever seen and that wouldnt even be close t the "best offer he sees"

Top 5 Prospects in Each Position
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bickellai_Khabibulin</b></div><div>Fantastic list. I'm glad you didn't go the fanboy route and use Chabot as well.
I think Gabriel Carlsson at CBJ would be a fair addition however. Especially ahead of Fabbro Bean and Andersson.
For me its Samsonov as 1. Although technically Juuse Saros has played less than 25 NHL games so he is 1.
There are a lot of great young goalies around at the moment. Thatcher Demko and McKenzie Blackwood both had strong 1st seasons in the AHL</div></div>
I was really going back and forth with Chabot and it seems like I shouldve went with him

missing Kirill Kaprizov ; Phil Myers instead of Jakub Zboril ; Ho-Sang isn't very much of a prospect anymore (drafted in '14, still can't produce at the AHL Level) ; Thomas Chabot also
this is very rugged outline of top prospects : not really a whole hell of a lot from the '15 or '16 draft</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Banman73</b></div><div>That's fair and makes sense.
They'd be put in corner if they don't make a trade. I'm sure Vegas takes Strome if that happens.
So if they do make a trade, I'm still interested in how that might look. What are your thoughts?</div></div>
I think they'd take Nelson, 3 straight 20 goal seasons and Strome has been so inconsistent.
If the Isles and Oilers make a trade for Hamonic, would have to imagine it involves one of RNH or Eberle if that's what youre asking.

And pretty much every hockey writer or network is saying the opposite. They are all saying it's 7-3 and the isles will lose a d-man. I love the fans and all, but I trust guys like Dreger, Bob Mackenzie and Elliot Friedman and many others a little more.</div></div>
Yeah expose both is what I meant, and those guys dont follow every team thoroughly. Isles writers Ive seen said they would have no problem going 3/5 if a deal isnt made. Would rather lose (most likely) Nelson than the position they struggled the most in this year

And expose Nelson and Strome. I doubt that very much.</div></div>
Most Isles fans would be completely fine with the Isles exposing one of those 2, expecting Nelson to be taken which Isles fans would love considering he completely disappears after November. And it would be a hell of a lot smarter to go the 3F/5D route than the 7F/3D route. Regardless, nobody on the Isles lost value.

They can easily protect Tavares, Ladd, Lee, Leddy, Boychuk, De Haan, Hamonic, Pulock

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Banman73</b></div><div>Read the comments in the Vegas trade. I agree with you. I'm sure a deal would go down between the three teams and most likely it'll be the day of the dispersal draft. I'm sure Vegas will trade a player they receive or a 3 way deal takes place with them and Edmonton. However, the Isles will lose De Haan or Hamonic if a deal is not made. The won't get as much for them in a trade because other teams know they can't protect them all. look at the Bishop trade. Pittsburgh(Fluery) and Anaheim(Vatenan) are in similar situations.</div></div>
The Islanders can easily protect both De Haan and Hamonic so no, theyre not in similar situations and no, their trade values arent lower

Apparently an "Official Offer" on the table for Duchene
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawkisles</b></div><div>Duchene had a horrible year. Hamonic had a horrible year. No one will know who wins this trade for quite some time.
I know COL fans (and Sakic) were expecting more, but did it occur to anyone that there might be reasons for why no one bit on Sakic's asking price last season? And that those reasons might explain why Duchene's asking price is less than you might think it is?</div></div>
Personally if Sakic is looking for Hamonic, I really can't see this trade going through. I can see the Isles adding a little bit like a pick or a prospect but honestly without trying to be bias towards either guy Hamonic was easily one of the top defensive defensemen in the league until last years blunder and Duchene don't get me wrong is a fantastic player, but he's also been tailing off for the last 3 years production wise (55, 59, 41) after almost being a PPG player in 2014.
So do I think this trade goes through? No
Do I think this trade is A LOT more closer than people think? Yup

My top three draft choices in each round
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hawkisles</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>alexg30</b></div><div>Isles have Otto Koivula, compared to Lee, won SHL Rookie of the Year this year in their system and I don't see them drafting a defenseman with their already strong depth there. Especially not Liljegren who if I had to guess will be taken at 8 by Buffalo.
Pulock, Wotherspoon, Pelech, Mayfield, Toews, Quenneville, Vande Sompel are all NHL caliber defensemen in time.
I do think if they keep the pick they're going to draft a forward and I personally would like them to take on of Tolvanen, Suzuki, Vesalainen or Andersson</div></div>
All very good points, but I think this team really needs more physicality in the pipelines. Hence the several RW power forwards. While we do have a good quantity of defensive prospects, I don't think any of those are top 4 material outside of Pulock. If we had another top 4 projected defenseman, I think we'd have a complete prospect system.</div></div>
I personally don't think at their pick in the draft they're gonna get a top 4 guy and I also think Wotherspoon has a legit shot at being a top 4 guy, Vande Sompel and Toews on the bubble. Maybe next year in a stronger draft but I can't really see it happening this year
