My top three draft choices in each round
Isles have Otto Koivula, compared to Lee, won SHL Rookie of the Year this year in their system and I don't see them drafting a defenseman with their already strong depth there. Especially not Liljegren who if I had to guess will be taken at 8 by Buffalo.
Pulock, Wotherspoon, Pelech, Mayfield, Toews, Quenneville, Vande Sompel are all NHL caliber defensemen in time.
I do think if they keep the pick they're going to draft a forward and I personally would like them to take on of Tolvanen, Suzuki, Vesalainen or Andersson

In a perfect world you ask boychuk to waive his NMC (0 chance he gets taken) and protect Tanev, Leddy, Hamonic, Pulock, De Haan, Ladd, Lee, Tavares, Greiss

Well he protected De Haan and honestly if I'm a GM deciding between Hickey and Nelson im taking Nelson and running. I would LOVE for Vegas to take Hickey, LOVE it.

holy **** any trade with Tavares is going to be a sign and trade what do you not understand like seriously</div></div>
holy **** you just added the caveat about a "sign and trade" after folks said the the trade you posted was not a good one a one year of JT. Gee, talk about being dishonest trying justify a poor trade. And why would JT agree to a sign and trade now? As of now, he's committee to be a UFA. If he did sign a with this fathom sign and trade would like it see the 2018/19 Ottawa lineup to see if it's even cap possible.</div></div>
I'm not trying to justify anything. I just cant stand people like you that dont think any trade concerning Tavares wouldnt be a sign and trade. I can GUARANTEE you if he does get traded it's going to be a sign and trade. And as I've said on like the last 3 threads you've posted this on he gets an 8 team list to wherever he would like to be traded. One can pretty much assume that of all of those 8 teams, he obviously wants to play there and probably wants to stay there long term or he wouldnt want to get traded. And this isnt even talking about the Ottawa trade this just goes for the whole NHL with these trades, they're all sign and trades. Obviously nobody would give up that much for 1 year worth of a player.

when u play with josh bailey and u make andres lee a 34 goal scorer it rlly doesnt matter. Name one proven linemate hes had. Remember Okposo played with Nielsen not Tavares for most of his Isles career</div></div>
he did have vanek for like 45 games in 2014 and those 2 together im pretty sure were the highest scoring duo in the league for those 40 something games. Crazy what Tavares can do with just 1 good winger if he can get one.

Completely Remaking the Islanders
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>So explain to me why he would "limit" his options to a sign and trade when he already wants to go to whatever team he's traded to?
It's really quite easy. He may agree to a trade, let's imagine at the TDL, if the Isles are out the race. Doesn't mean at all, that he would sign an extension for that team.
For example, Pens, Ligntning are on a Cup run. They would like Tavares for 6 weeks and the regular season and the playoffs. These teams can't afford to sign JT long term. But JT might agree to be traded to those teams.
So JT has lots of options, but picking a "sign and trade" might be one of the less desirable to him then many others. Maybe it's a trade to contender, and he comes back to the Isles as a UFA would even seem more likely.</div></div>
I cant see Tavares being used as a rental then coming back to NYI. I think if he truly wants to explore his options, he's gone before the season starts on a sign and trade. No use keeping a guy that doesnt want to be here and shipping him out as a rental when you can get so much more trading him before the season on a sign and trade. And Tavares isnt the type of guy to just want to bounce around the league. He's as loyal a player as any and takes pride in that. If he wants to leave, he'll be going to a place where he wants to stay longer term.

Yes, it is laughable. Tavares has gone this far , why should he limit his options in a "sign and trade"? Leafs can't afford Tavares in a few years or want to.</div></div>
He has a modified NTC, I can guarantee you he will get traded if he decides not to sign. And get this, on a modified NTC, the player getting traded gets to essentially pick where he wants to go. So explain to me why he would "limit" his options to a sign and trade when he already wants to go to whatever team he's traded to?
