Description

It would be amazing if Vlad could stay, but he can't. We need to resign the kids (Chytil, Miller, Laf IN THAT ORDER). Motte would be a great depth piece to bring back, and Othmann + Cuylle should break the roster next season. Garand has played really well in the AHL and internationally, should make for a good backup

Rather see Jones make the team and if not trade him but otherwise seems reasonable.

Also Garand hasn't been great in the AHL sub .900 sv% and over 3 gaa. He could use an extra year or two down there.

This is why trading 1st round picks for a rental is not a good idea....unless they win the Cup this year, the cupboard goes barren real quick...and here we are- more than likely in need of sacrificing more premium assets to be competitive and make a run next year. Expecting Othmann to jump from junior to top line RW is not a reasonable ask. So far he has looked impressive- but at a level nowhere near close to NHL caliber play. My guess is he starts in Hartford and is a mid season call up into the bottom 6. And Cuylle- from what I've seen is not yet an NHL player.
