Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. Is Schenn having a career resurgence or does he just play well in VAN!? He’s a Sutter type player but he’s old and it hasn’t been very long since he was down playing in the minors. Anyways, thought I’d ask and share with @Ledge_And_Dairy

Pretty sure I already responded to this exact trade in a different post today. Would rather not move Meloche in this instant, Mackey would be preferable.

Here's why I view Schenn getting more than 2M, last summer I expected Gudbranson would want to stay in Calgary where he had a career year, was clearly liked by the team and coach, and was overall happy. I figured he would take a Bogosian like discount to stay, especially considering he has a 2 year old daughter and had already moved between 4 teams in the previous 3 years plus he bought a house in Calgary. End of the day though Columbus offered him boat of money and he flew off. I've learned that players of that skill set seem to get paid more than they are worth for some reason. Michael Stones pre buyout contract is another example of it

I mean it makes complete sense, money talks and if another Team will pay them more and that means more to them and their family, they’re going to chase the dollars

I’m just saying, like Gudbranson, anything over $2mil shouldn’t be a consideration for CGY

As for Meloche, he’s 23 games away from being a Group-6 RFA, so he’ll be a UFA at the end of this season, am I right!? I’d really have liked to see Meloche get some ice time with the Flames this season, as he’s possibly a future Schenn, Rutta or Holl imo. A Good Sized Shut Down D-Man

And yes you did, I pitched the same trade without the 7th coming back with Schenn

Not disagreeing on the money, I just expect it to happen again. Personally I would rather either Kylington come back next year and play with Tanev to run 3 strong pairs or give one of our prospects a similar chance with Tanev on the 3rd pair

You are right on Meloche, I didn't even bother to check that.

And no Im talking about a completely different post from yours. (this one here) It also didn't have the 7th included

So yeah, if we acquired Schenn what does that say to Meloche. Might as well send him the other way to reduce the pick. Some say Schenn could get a 2nd. I don’t think he’s worth that but these Big Shut Down Guys are highly sought after for the Playoffs and especially when they’re a Right Shot RD, which you already know and are well aware of

That TK trade is hilarious. Flyers reject and block your number.
