Both obviously, Laf has had 3 years to prove himself and hasn't managed to do much to solidify a top 6 role. His ceiling is higher but it is also looking like he won't hit it. Slaf has had a solid rookie year a lower ceiling but Montreal management feel like he will be a top line winger here for a long long time.

I think each team is happy what they have. Slaf fits MTL time line and LAF fits NYR better.

i would say each team might be somewhat unhappy with what they have, but the timeline arguments is the reason neither makes the trade!

I think they are happy ish because not all first go and be mcdavid right away. Power played one full season of college hockey and I don't think BUF is upset because of it.
And LAF is .50 points per game playing 3rd (2 pp points) line min I would say it is okay, he has Panarin and Kreider a head of him and Gallant prefer veterans.

Slaf showed promise but needs to use his size better. I'm not disappointed in either.
