Description

Bruins have a deal in place for Gavrikov and are currently shopping Smith.
Would it make sense? Three-way deal between BOS-NSH-EDM
BOS gets: EDM's 3rd in 2023
NSH gets: BOS's 4th in 2023 and they retain 50% on Smith
EDM gets: Smith (50% retained)
It seems a bit complicated but let me know what you would do, value and usual stuff

They are up against the cap and have been operating on LTIR all season. They are in a money in-money out situation.

ok it could be any team interested in Smith, I took EDM as an exemple.

Also, if EDM waives Puljujarvi it would give them some relief.

Edmonton wants value for Puljujarvi, and teams probably want Boston to pay to take on Smith's cap.

Boston won't retain on Smith, they can't trade for Gavrikov because they're capstruct. Boston will pay another team to retain some salary on Smith.

Or maybe this is all bogus. One look at the d group with gavrikov and it really doesnt’ make any sense.

I mean a team like Montreal would take on the full cap hit if Boston gives them something like a draft pick.

yeah but Boston won't give up a pick to MTL, too much chances they draft the next Connor McDavid with that pick lol
