Boston completes the deal with Columbus using the ducks as a 3rd party. Boston sending smith to the ducks could allow the ducks to retain the cap on smith and use him as there own rental than. Some playoff team that wants playoff experience would add him at 50% retained. Also helps the ducks get more assets.

ducks move out henry Thrun. he already said he was not signing so better to not lose him for nothing

Agreed on the Smith/Thrun moves. Don't see Bruins trading Cliffy or any RHD.

How else may us illegitimate, unwanted non-Original Six teams serve the masters? Please, take anyone off the roster. All we ask is the privilege to pay your albatross salaries to afford you cap space.

For Anaheim, moving up a round and a half at the end of next next draft is so generous. The Ducks are simply eating $3.1M AAV in an unprecedented static era of the hard cap and rewarding a whiny prospect that cost a fourth round pick.

Likewise, Columbus graciously accepts “Cliffy,” quite useful as he’ll be a free agent in two months. I know CBJ *said* they wanted a 1st, 3rd, and 4th, but forget about the silly 3rd. Besides, BOS picks are special in their predictability this year, guaranteed to be at the back of each round. And being allowed to retain half of Gavrikov’s salary and take on dear Cliffy’s makes the lost pick compensation a wash. Oh, and everyone in Columbus knows the 7th round reservist is a gift, a blessing…not a backhanded insult.

As mentioned above, please let us know how we may continue our servitude in the future.

Oh I agree, we Boston fans are an obnoxious bunch. I wasn't commenting on the whole offer, just the piece I liked. From all reports I've seen deal is Gavrikov for Boston's 1st and 3rd, with the holdup being Bruins needing to move Smith to clear space. Elliotte Friedman seems surprised it's not done. Do you think that's a fair return for him? Maybe it's a 2024 or 2025 1st when we might be worse?

From what I've read on Gavrikov he is Carlo like in that he is a big body who doesn't play too physical?
