Let's see how close I am on the return. I think I have to retire on top though, no new proposals from me.

Hathaway and Orlov to Bruins
Haha I've been throwing in Thrun and using Anaheim as the Bank in all my deals, not trolling Ducks fans, but I imagine that's annoying.
Price to be used as a Bank seems to be a 5th round pick, that's what Arizona/Chicago got in their deals. Thrun is going UFA in August. My guess is the Harvard/Mass kid might pick the Bruins, but I also was upset back in the day when Jimmy Vesey spurned us, so who knows. Do you think you'll be able to move him for a real asset before he goes UFA?
That's where I arrived at the 3rd. We know Bruins and Ducks can trade together.

Hathaway and Orlov to Bruins
Hathaway is a better fit in our bottom 6 than 10 points from Craig Smith. Orlov is physical and can skate, I actually think he'd look awesome with Bruins. 2 players who I've long disliked but no denying their physicality could be huge in the playoffs.
Not sure of return, hard to see Bruins having room to resign Orlov so return was based on both as pure rentals, with Anaheim as the Bank.

If Bruins are mysery team in on Kane
They almost definitely aren't, but you're a Bruins fan right? Names don't usually leak that Sweeney is after, so I wouldn't be totally shocked by it. In terms of price, I'm willing to trade Lysell and a 1st for impact in the postseason, and they aren't more impactful out there than Kane.
If they only add small pieces, which is the most likely outcome, and don't get it done, they will always regret it. I wonder how much Monty, Bergy are pushing for help vs not wanting to disturb the chemistry of the team.

I couldn't get the trade right in the machine, but I think if Anaheim is the bank Bruins can fit Kane's 25% prorated cap. So Anaheim gets a 3rd to act as Bank and to route Thrun to Boston (announced recently he won't sign there and is going to UFA) and because Bruins like making trades with the Ducks.
1st and Lysell for Kane. Better than Rangers offer? Is Kane going to decide NYR or he'll stay in Chicago?
Kane owes me a cup for 2013, I was there in Game 6 for 2 goals in 13 seconds.

Bruins Flames Hanifin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>Rumours for Hanifin likely won’t pick up until after this season, as he is still our #1LD and an important piece to our team, but come the off-season, we will be able to commence contract extension discussions in which we will find out whether he’s a) interested in staying in Calgary/Canada, b) wants to test free agency or c) we should facilitate a trade to another team either as a rental or on a Sign & Trade
I’m extremely nervous about East Coast Born Americans, as we’ve had a few not want to stick around. BOS has always seemed interested in local born Hanifin and he trains there very summer, so it’s a good Trade Partner and Destination for Hanifin
Given we’ve signed Weegar long-term, Kylington should be back and Poirier is coming along well, I don’t know that Lohrei will be a want or need, but I imagine Players Born in Wisconsin or Colorado should be much easier to re-sign.
CGY will want one of Zacha, DeBrusk or Carlo coming back for sure with a Pick and Prospect or whatever to balance it out. Fabian might be of interest depending on whether yet another American in Coronato signs and plays in CGY
Two other BOS players who are appealing to us are Calgary Born Taylor Hall and AJ Greer. Maybe Hampus Lindholm wants to head to CGY by then too, I don’t know, but we definitely like our Swede’s
Otherwise the only reason Hanifin would be moved any time soon would be in a Trade for or to make room for a perceived upgrade, like Chychrun as MoxNix identified OR for an Amazing Top-6 Forward we could sign long term Pastrnak, Meier, etc.</div></div>
Perfect response thank you. I find the whole picking your spot thing happening in NHL as inevitable part of player empowerment. It will never be as bad as NBA due to size of rosters, but moving in that direction. Boston is in a great spot to benefit from that trend, but it's not good for the sport overall in my opinion. You're 100% right about Hanfiin training here and the stories about Zacha living here in offseason certainly seemed to be a big factor in acquiring him. I love having local guys on team. 2015 draft was convinced we were trading picks 13-15 to trade up for Hanfiin so wouldn't be surprised if he ends up here someday.
Canadian attention is on a different planet from even a passionate Original 6 market in the USA. But I also see Johnny Hockey as maybe a unique case, seems like a pretty shy kid from his Spittin Chiclets interviews, Columbus seems like a perfect spot for him. And Tkachuk seemed to be a Sutter issue, Brady is obviously happy in Ottawa. Should Matthews leave for Arizona however.....(only trolling Leafs fans)

I replied to you elsewhere, you mostly answered my questions on Gavrikov above. Bruins fans are terrified of the Gryz they saw in playoffs last year, some are idiots and ignore that he was hurt; Sports radio here basically tells you Gryz sucks and is a playoff liability.
I don't agree with that, I think Gryz-McAvoy will stick in the playoffs outside end of game scenarios. But that's the theory.

His names not actually out there in rumors is it? I haven't seen it. If it was, would you think the add be Lysell/Lohrei (Our only high level prospects right now. Or would they rather build around him even with a coaching change/potential rebuild? Is Treliving out too if Sutter goes ya think?

Boston
Oh I agree, we Boston fans are an obnoxious bunch. I wasn't commenting on the whole offer, just the piece I liked. From all reports I've seen deal is Gavrikov for Boston's 1st and 3rd, with the holdup being Bruins needing to move Smith to clear space. Elliotte Friedman seems surprised it's not done. Do you think that's a fair return for him? Maybe it's a 2024 or 2025 1st when we might be worse?
From what I've read on Gavrikov he is Carlo like in that he is a big body who doesn't play too physical?

I love it as a Bruins fan, I posted an offer for Hayes because he'd be cheaper I think, but could see Stevie Y moving Larkin straight up for 2 1sts and Lysell. Not sure if the additional cap moves needed match up value wise for Detroit, but maybe with a 3rd team involved.

No idea what Calgary is doing with Sutter, but if he's gone and Flames are going to retool, are the picks + Zboril (ceiling is probably 3rd pair D) appealing enough to move Hanifin?
I saw him included in another proposal, but haven't seen his name out there in rumors.

Bring home Kevin Hayes
The return is based on the cap retention plus Hayes, not just Hayes straight up. I had dreams of Freddy-Coyle-Hayes bullying other teams 3rd lines in playoffs, and Hayes at 50% retained is definitely workable for future gaping hole at Center; If Bruins win, I think Krejci and Bergy retire, and next year would be rough with their bonuses/Pasta extension.
Appreciate the reply.

I've read speculation on Montgomery knowing/liking Barbashev, II think it was an Athletic story on Monty as Blues asst being great with the Russians due to his KHL days, do you recall hearing stories about that?o
Don't care about late 1st, I'd prefer him to adding Gavtrikov for that 1st. No chance Carlo is moved now.

Very much a what I would do proposal vs. what Bruins will do, I just am not a big Gavrikov guy/I believe in Gryz, I think last postseason he was playing injured and will not look like that again in the playoffs.
Agreed on Bruins having 0 prospects, if Philly preferred Lohrei would swap him in for Lysell. Perfectly willing to empty the farm system completely to win a Cup. Could flip Hayes to Anaheim 1st for additional cap retention instead of Philly retaining 50%.
Thanks for reply.

Thrun likely signing in Boston as UFA (no sources just guess). Hayes to Boston as post Bergy #1, 1st+Lysell due to 50% cap retention. 1st attempt, be gentle.
