Just going off of an idea on the athletic:

If he's double retained (to any team), that's a much more palatable cap hit for any contender.

The reason I had the lines like this was because it'd be leaning into making your RW and C overcome your weakness at LW. During 5v5 there's almost always going to be one of Marner, Nylander, or Kane on the ice is pretty insane (paired with Matthews, Tavares, or O'Reilly).

Though it looks like Kane isn't interested in the Leafs, it's still pretty neat looking. I'm probably off on the value for Kane by a mid round pick or something.
