Description
** Big disclaimer - I doubt Washington moves Wilson. If they do, it's a sure sign of a rebuild and I doubt Ovechkin doesn't go to management to stop the move. (Also don't know if Toronto is on Wilsons's 7-team no-trade list) **

No one touches Nylander and Matthews in the playoffs because of Wilson.
Bunting I've always wanted to be with Tavares instead of Matthews, but he's needed with Matthews as the distraction right now, Wilson lets him move down to 2LW.

O'Reilly moves to 3C for insane C depth. Pair Knies with the proven leader in O'Reilly and give him his best chance to succeed coming in. That line would have some size in Knies and O'Reilly and with Jarnkrok as the third member with them they are an offensive threat.

4th line is the full defensive shutdown line with Engvall - Kampf - Acciari.

I know people probably don't be happy with trading Sandin over Holl, I just feel like if Washington is moving Jensen, they'd prefer Sandin to resign and build with. Also, Jensen coming in to play with Rielly moves Brodie down with Lily which is a really strong 2nd pairing. Then Gio - Holl becomes the more physical shutdown D pairing. This keeps Holl for the PK which no matter what Leaf's fans think, he excels at.

Would be very solid additions. I don't think the prospects included are high profile enough to get it done- especially with another year with Wilson retained.

I mean as a Caps fan, I like this return, but he's not moving as long as Ovi is in town. The team has said they won't be rebuilding

Ya, I doubt they move Wilson while Ovi is still pushing for the goal record. Also, I don't disagree with @Rage44 that another prospect might be needed for Washington to make this move. I wouldn't be against adding Holmberg to the deal. (Acciari kind of took his spot next year I think)

Acciari isn't signed for next year, and I don't think he'll come back this cheap. Holmberg should come back @ 1.1 or less as RFA -- but I agree that TOR should be willing to include something more- Robertson maybe ?

I'd be good with Robertson instead of Holmberg.

I know Acciari isn't signed, but the Leafs wanted to sign him this summer and with how he plays I see him as being the kampf replacement this offseason instead of Holmberg at around the $1.5M-$2M number

I'm all for Holmberg coming to Washington, I've tried getting him in every Leafs-Caps trade I've done lately lol
