No its not. You clearly dont understand that Edmonton needs to overpay to actually acquire anybody. The fact you think they are all overpays shows this much. This is Holland's same thinking and why many are getting fed up. Winning a trade doesnt mean anything when you are wasting Mcdrai's 2-3 year window. The worst you can do is sit on your hands with futures and endless cap space in 2026 when both superstars are gone.

Theres a difference between overpaying for Erik Karrlson comapred to overpaying for Mike Matheson and a 4c. Matheson was a cap dump over summer and yeah he's been good but Broberg is just starting to blossom why trade him now. I would get trading him or Bouchard for Ekholm or Karrlsson or Chychrun or even Kane but Matheson and a Bottom 6c cmon now. I agree we should mortgage guys like Bourgault, Lavoie, Schaefer and every 1st round pick we have to build that bottom 6 and defensive depth but you use Broberg and Bouch for star players not for depth.

You clearly never watch the Eastern conference. Matheson was never a cap dump. That is the same ridiculous notion that Petry was a cap dump and EDmonton would love to have Petry right now whos thriving with Petersson in Pittsburgh and has been there best pairing all year. Matheson is also having another career season on a bad team.
He had a breakout season last year and is starting to pick it up again. There's a reason why the Habs started winning recently...its cause Matheson came back into the lineup. He's plus 9 on a terrible team with another career season PPG in the making. He's big at 6'2". He can skate very well, maybe top 10 in the league as a dman. You cant find players like this

You are the type of fan that keeps Holland from doing anything because everything is an overpay for you and you coddle every prospect like Tyler Benson and Puljujarvi whom are merely magic beans. Bouchard and Broberg arent close to their peak IF theyll ever get there. Nobody is trading sure things like McCabe at retention I might add, Ekholm and Matheson without legit promise pieces coming back. But yeah lets hold our cap space and prospects til 2026 when they enter the lineup while McDavid and Drasaitl leave the club. Ill be following this system closely.
