Tried to look up what each player would cost. Probably would need to add a bit more to the Arizona trade but honestly idk.

I just dont think ARZ does it. Chyrchrun probably gets alot of that package alone, let alone they throw in Crouse. I think you take out the 2024 1st and that gets Chychrun.

The Lafferty deal works, but I think CAR goes down with another option, maybe JVR and/or Sanheim for a lesser offer.

The Lafferty deal is mainly in there cause the cap hit worked pretty much perfectly so we wouldn't have to pay a ton more for any retention. But yeah I wasn't really too sure what all we would have to send to Arizona we could probably add some more prospects or picks.

My guess is Don Waddell is golfing somewhere and doesn't realize it's the trade deadline. He'll wait until March 3rd and be the VERY last trade...AGAIN...and it'll be for Kevin Hayes because he's got term and the Flyers don't really want him around and he can maxime trade value. I understand the theory behind his moves (Burns/Patches too)...it's just painful to think other teams are truly trying to win this year and despite Tom Dundon saying "the Canes are more aggressive this year than in the past" we still can't be a finalist for impact players like Timo. If not being a finalist for impact players is most aggressive in years...I might need to change fandom. That means ALOT more to me than any words any owner says. Actions speak louder than words.

100% agreed. This is how I truly feel right now. Year after year I have to jump yell scream at DW to do something...it's so frustrating. TBL just sold off their 5th 1st round pick. FIVE. Stamkos said F them picks we want to win. And actions happened. What do they have to show for it? CUPS. It's all about the Cup.

That's one example and you might have more details on the proposed trade than I do. I'd actually appreciate it if you had a source? I'm just tired of this being such a yearly tradition. EVERY year. I do like Trocheck. I do. But he's not Timo Meier or ROR or Horvat. I'm not even saying Don Waddell makes bad trades. He makes smart moves. BUT he doesn't make the NECESARY moves needed to win a cup. Every year, a group of teams gives up a 1st round pick in order to win a cup. DW says everyone is going to zig....ok, I'll zag. But what he's missing is that group of 6-8 teams changes. The Blackhawks aren't trading away a 1st this year, BUT they'll 100% do it when they're in contention. And vice versa the NJD just sent a haul when in the past they've been sellers. THIS is CAR's window. It's now. I'd argue it's been our window for a bit...and it's hard to win a cup. Windows don't stay open forever.

Remember how untouchable Jake Bean was? 2x AHL dman of the year. He's a lock and can't possibly be part of a TDL trade. We're doing the same EXACT same thing with Nikishin right now. IF he comes to America...it's not for at least 3 years and his stats are all inflated because he's on the SKA St. Pete. He SHOULD be very expendable because his stock has never been higher. But all I hear is that he's untouchable just like Jake Bean.

***EDIT*** Maybe it's a Tom Dundon thing and not a DW thing. Maybe it's entirely possible my frustration had been missplaced over the years. Tom Dundon spoke with Frank Serevalli and discussed this exact point. Tom's hesitant to go all in on a rental because he's going to want to win in the future too, BUT this is a problem for the reasons outlined above. He's not focused on winning now like other teams are. He's more concerned about the future than winning a cup. We can't have it both ways. It's just not how this works.
