This seems about right. But id imagine Toronto would ask for retention then add a bit more. If the Preds blow it up, theyll need to spend more money so it wont be the end of the world if they can get a Minten/Voit for it

There is no way the Preds part with Saros without receiving a top 10 prospect+.

The only offer Toronto and Nashville may consider is
Knies, A first, a third, Murray.

But ultimately, Nashville still probably declines since getting a goalie like Saros is just so much harder than a player like Knies.

Id happily give that for saros and the only reason they might give him up if they start rebuilding

Leafs really don't need Saros.....rather resign Samansov cheaper than 5m Saros. Murray's is a modest buyout this summer. And Murray has been good this year....when he has played.

Yeah, issue is Saros is 27. If Saros was 31 or 32, maybe. But he's young enough to still be a good starter assuming they are competitive 3-4 years down the line.

The issue is getting a top 10 goalie talent is just so much harder than any other position and I don't think they'd be willing to risk losing what can be an anchor throughout their rebuilding era and then some.

He only has 2 years left after this year assuming those are the years nashville tanks do you want to risk losing saros for nothing. Most likely Saros numbers are gonna drop on a bad team and his value with it.

Maybe.
He probably fetches something pretty in the off-season if he doesn't get an extension, which Nashville would be absolutely stupid to not attempt with a near open chequebook.
