Interesting Ideas. However...
- I think you are paying brown and Hyman both too much. And you will need more to sign Boyle. And if anything Carolina will need to give up extra value just to get rid of Lack, who had one of the worst SV% in the league last year, I don't think the leafs should be giving up value in Soshnikov and Marincin. And if you want that ANA deal, you probably need to make that late 2nd your pick at 15 overall to have a chance at Vatanen.

Overall, I would give you a B- on your first GM team.

Thanks for the feedback. Some quick rationale:

1) Both Hyman and Brown had good rookie seasons. While I think the contracts are a bit high, I also think that teams usually have to overpay for 3'd line players. And while they are both different kinds of players, if Martin can get 2.5 million a season, I don't think it is too far off for Brown and Hyman to make as much on average.

2) Yes, probably a bit much for Lack but I think Leaf fans tend to overvalue our players (perhaps I am guilty of this in my other trade). Lack has decent career numbers and could do well in a new setting. I think given the Leafs depth chart, Sosh is in more danger of falling further down than the promise of moving up - so a new team could help his future.

3) You are probably right about the including the 17th* pick but I live in hope. I can't bare to see the Leafs trade first round picks....

At least I got a passing grade!

P.S. I could be wrong but I don't think Boyle has ever made more than 2 mill a year so given his age and season, I can't see him making more than he does now.

I think Boyle will get a raise above 2 million for the same reason Matt Martin did - because teams will get into a bidding war over him. Seems to be the same reason the price for Vatanen (a very very good 3rd pairing D making almost 5 mil per season) is going to cost such an obscene amount in futures.
