Additional Details:

With Sheary likely being moved by Friday for a decent return, and Caps saying they’re not wanting to tear it down maybe there’d be interest in Foegele at 2.2M? Career 10+ goal 30+ point player. Good 3LW to have & only 26 years old. If he’s a fit you keep him through the deal, if not he’s an easy player to trade at next years deadline especially if you retain some money. The 6th is a good spot to draft a goalie.

Them trading TVR would be dumb and Foegele seems to have no value. It would probably need to be a 2nd or so for this to work imo.

At 2.2M he’s gotta have some. He’s got 11 goals right now. Career 30+ point player. TVR expendable with Carlson & Jensen back next year. 3RD spot is easy to fill. I’d do our 2023 2nd instead if you give your 4th back? Would that make it work?

He’s not a dump at 2.2M though is he? Everyone was saying to me Puljujarvi would cost to move. Carolina took the entire 3M and gave back a former 3rd round pick back. C+ prospect. Foegele has 11 goals in fewer games to Pulju’s 5. Only 2 years older at 26.

extra year for foegele kills his value, also a huge difference between 2.75m and say 1.5m for a bottom 6 player. if there's one thing MacLellan is really good at its finding depth guys who are both better than foegele and cheaper, caps take a hard pass here
