No from the Isles, while it is nice to get rid in Bailey there is no interest in moving Wahlstrom.

And I'm sure red wings fans said there was no interest in moving Hronek but here we are

Detroit has players that can take over for Hronek coming through their pipeline. That was a smart move to get assets then replace Hronek over the next few years with up and coming prospects.

Boeser would not play in the top-6 on a healthy Isles team as Barzal is the 1RW and Palmeri the 2 RW with Wahlstrom being the 3 RW when he returns healthy next year.

There is absolutely no reason to make this trade for the Isles.

Damn you're right. Except for the reason that's he's better than both of those RWs and Parise should really be playing 3rd line. Which ultimately makes the team better now and next year.

Lee - Horvat - barzal
Palmieri - Nelson - Boeser
Parise - cizikas - engvall/martin

Parise should be playing 3rd line, with Pageau and Wahlstrom. The Isles are not contenders and Boeser does nothing to bring them closer to be contenders.

Next years lineup should be:

Lee-Horvat-Barzal
Holmstrom-Nelson-Palmeri
Parise-Pageau-Wahlstrom

OK you're kind of proving my point. They're a better team with Boeser. I didn't think they were a contender adding Horvat either but they're in it now. Would be weird not to make an improvement to the offense (not a rental) if the oppertunity presented itself

This is not proving your point at all. The Isles would be a better team with Barzal and Wahlstrom healthy, without them they have absolutely no chance of contending so why would they trade a younger player in Wahlstrom who has been developing when Boeser does not move the needle for the team at all as the best case scenario for the Isles is the 8th spot in the east and they get crushed by Boston in round 1.

You keep Wahlstrom and a 2nd to come back better next year.

You can have Wilde, he is clearly never getting a shot with the Isles being buried in the ECHL. A prospect swap for one of your underwhelming prospects or just a late pick.

These aren't my prospects or a love I have for Wilde I just threw him in. Sure Barzal healthy makes them better but Wahlstrom coming back isn't moving the anything. If Wahlstrom becomes as good as Boeser than that's a win for him and the Isles. Honestly didn't even know Wahlstrom was hurt, Canucks may not even want him. And Holmstrom on line 2? It's bold, he hasn't proven he should be there
But objectively does Boeser make the Isles better offensively than having Wahlstrom or Holmstrom on the 2nd line? Absolutely. The stats prove that. I never said anything about contending for a cup or even winning in The 1st round. If they even get there. If you can't acknowledge the Isles would be a better team (when everyone is healthy) with Boeser, minus Wahlstrom then we really have nothing more to talk about

Objectively, a healthy Isles team with Boeser minus Wahlstrom is a better team. What they finish or win in the playoffs, I'm not talking about that. Wahlstrom simply isn't as good in all aspects of the game. That's all the trade was. But to say they're a better team with Holmstrom on 2nd line and Wahlstrom 3rd is delusional.
