Description

IMO we have a lot of prospects that are close to or are nhl ready that we can sell off the 2024 UFAs and other pieces and we will be able to contend in a couple of years.

Future needs

Center - Perfetti/Lambert/Lucius all might be wingers at the NHL level. Need some centres.

RHD - Just like right now we need RHD. DeMelo would probably be moved soon. Our left side would be pretty solid for the future with JMo, Heinola, and Samberg but need some better RHD.

Goalie - I think the Jets might have something in Dom from North Bay but would at least need someone in the interim. Probably try to get a young goalie in one of the big trades.

Strong spots for the future

Wingers - With Ehlers and Connor plus one/two/all of Lambert, Perfetti, and Lucius if they don't turn into centres.

LHD - Jets have always been strong on the left side but with the potential of Heinola and Samberg we would have 3 top 4 D on the left side... I would try Heinola on the right side with JMo.

Depth guys to sign in FA to fill some holes

Really there's not much left on Connor or Ehlers current contracts, they should probably trade them too and go into a full rebuild, trade DeMelo and keep Schmidt for a veteran presence, maybe see if Morrissey wants to stick around and if not see what he's worth.

If they don't take a step in the right direction then I agree Ehlers and Connor should be moved. As for DeMelo vs Schmidt... as I said DeMelo would eventually be moved either right after this season or at next years TDL. If you can't get any value back for Schmidt then I agree to keep him.
