Tampa Bay on paper wins hands down. They are far better matched at every position.

Completely disagree. The Leafs have the clear edge at the center position, which is the most important position on a team. Not even sure how that's debatable. I would say the Leafs also have the deeper/better blueline. Hedman and Cernak have both been having horrendous seasons to their standards and other than Sergachev, the rest of their blueline is made up of AHL defenceman. They have been playing Nick Perbix on the top pair for christ's sake. Only position you can say Tampa Bay beats on paper is goaltending. Having said all of that, Lightning in 7.

2 points you're incorrect on
1. Goaltending is the most important position. TB wins there.
2. Point Stamkos,Pau/Cirelli (whichever is 3c) >Mathews Tavares O'Riley How the F*** is Toronto's Center group undebatably better ? If you believe that you either utterly suck at talent evaluation or are completely homerishly delusional!!!!
Come on now with the blyeline

Meant to say most important skater position, that's my bad. Didn't realize Stamkos was a centre. That changes a lot of things. You're a lightning fan so you know best, but hasn't he been on the wing for the past 2-3 years?

No he's been in the middle most of the last 2 or so. He does play some wing but leads the team in face-offs.

The lightning will likely win unless Samsonov and that defence have a rabbit’s foot up they’re a*ses

1.So name the 2 RW guys that equal Marner and Nylander?
2.Leafs definitely win the faceoff battle which means they start with the puck more.
3. Goalie TB
4. Defense slightly TB
5. Physical play TB
6. Top 6 even
7. Bottom 6 TB

Kucherov/Point. They are not equal, they are better than Marner/Nylander. I think the Leafs have added more firepower this year and bulked up their defense, but I think Lightning are built better for the playoffs which is evidenced by recent (and not so recent) history.

They list Point as a center not RW. Which does he play?

Even Kucherov and Killorn is better.

1. Kucherov and Killorn. Kucherov is equal to Marner and Killorn is maybe not as skilled as Nylander but he brings it in when it counts. TB Wins
2. Faceoffs are pretty even. Point, Cirelli, Paul, Stamkos (occasionally) are all great on faceoffs. So wont give an edge to anybody on this one. Even.
3. Vasilevksiy way better. Agree. TB Wins.
4. TB defense outworks Leafs defense any night. Skill is far superior. Left Side - Hedman/Sergachev are both better than Rielly/McCabe. Ian Cole comparable to Gio but Gio gets edge because he can play PP. Perbix vs Brodie? Offers same type of player. Cernak gets the edge over Liljegren/Holl because he is physical and can add some offense. Bogosian is basically like Schenn so an even wash. Overall TB is better. TB Wins.
5. Physical play goes to TB. Agree. TB Wins.
6. Top 6 Tampa Bay gets the edge. Comparable skill but going off track record TB gets the edge with experience. TB Wins.
7. Bottom 6 Tampa gets the edge again. Physical and can wear down opponents plus that playoff experience is hard to come by. TB Wins.

So overall TB is the superior team.

I guess we will see what reality plays out.

Go Leafs Go?
