Esntrom waived NMC so Jets could go 7-3-1

Protect: Scheif, Wheeler, Little, Perrault, Lowry, Copp, Armia, Buff, Myers, Trouba, Hellebuyck
Expose: Enstrom (NMC waived ONLY for LV) Dano, Mathias, Stuart, Hutchinson

Deal in place to take Dano and not 1 year of Enstrom.

After expansion, before entry draft IF SJS is going into retool/rebuild then trade for M.E.V. even though he's 1 year away from UFA, he's an excellent LHD that is defensively minded and perfect partner for Buff.

UFA:
Big game hunt for the first time ever since WPG relocation. Overpay Thornton on a 2 year deal who sees the potential and since M.E.V. has moved there, and the fact the he'll get the opportunity to play with some of the best up and coming wingers in the game he see's the potential and signs.

Parentaeu is a great depth player and PK and is signed cheaply to do as much.
Condon is another depth signing who's a more than capable backup able to step in when needed. Also it's 3x the money for him so def attractive.

Long term outlook: Current Cap Space is 3.8M

18/19 season:
Coming off the books: Little, Enstrom, Vlassic, Mathias, Stuart, Hutchinson freeing up approx 20M
Little likely re-signed at same deal or discount (4.5 let's say) Vlassic same (4.5) none of the others re-signed meaning 14M available to sign:
Trouba (5M raise), Morrisey (3M raise) Ehlers (4.5M raise) (Lowry stays the same maybe minor raise) Armia (Same as Lowry)

19/20 season:
Coming off the books: Wheeler, Myers, Thornton, Parenteau freeing 19M available to sign:
Laine (7M raise), Connor (3-4M raise), Roslovic (2-3M raise), Wheeler(1-2M raise),

Deals don't screw the long term, the short term contract given to Thronton allows the flexibility to sign Laine Connor and Roslovic as well as re-signing little and wheeler.

Basically keeps the band together for a few years without having to scarifice some good young talent.
