I really hope Bratt and Timo take less, but Bratt is gonna want 9M+ sadly.

disagree. they won't be competitive until schmaltz's last year at best.
better to trade him now in order to create the best possible team when they come out of the rebuild, even if it takes them a year longer to get there.
besides, the contract will be real difficult to stomach from a management perspective as they'd have to pay him a 7.5m salary while being one of the worst teams in the league.

I think there are too many comps for Bratt and Meier not to get more than 8.5m long-term (Fiala, Forsberg, Hintz etc).

should be fine, even when assuming a modest cap increase for the subsequent season.
the point with resigning Severson to that 8 year contract was always to move marino out to let Nemec develop (and ELC slide) one year extra
