I would suggest you actually take your own advice and watch some capitals games from different points in the year, it is patently obvious that the team was wrecked by injuries and an incompetent coach (no innovation, failure to change from Laviolette after Carlson injury). Since Laviolette is on an expiring contract, the largest problem will be gone, and this team is going to add a top 6 forward (the GM himself said he was going for one) to go along with young guys like Strome, Milano, Protas, Sandin, Fehervary, Alexeyev, etc. It is patently obvious you are unfamiliar with the Capitals as Sandin, Jensen, Van Riemsdyk, Fehervary, and Carlson have strong defensive numbers on basically any site out there. I urge you to actually learn the game because relying on “but muh age” as Boston is top of the league with their top two centers over 35, and other such narratives is embarrassingly sad.
