I expect Schenn to stay in Toronto for 850k. We need Kubalik next season. We lost too much scoring at the trade deadline.

I think on this team Barlow could replace him in that aspect but I do get what you mean.

I dont really think either prospect turns into much but it does free us of Joeys contract. Just not sure if id prefer Joey as a fall back incase the young centers stumble or the cap flexibility

In a re-tool, I'd rather let the rookies stumble a bit. Ryjo kinda stinks, and I wouldn't mind freeing his 8m using that space and assets we've accumulated to get a really good, young top 6 player or RHD

I like Barlow. 1st trade works. In the second trade I'd remove Vancouvers 2nd (it's likely only a few picks away from Vegas's 1st and not worth a two 2nds.) and add our third. Huge pass on the third trade. It's a mistake to trade young resources for inconsistent, overpaid veterans considering where Detroit is right now or anytime really.

It's like 12-15 picks up, night cost a bit, it's more just a basis of a trade since we have 3 right now and 4 in this situation.
RyJo brings alot of things we could use. He's great at faceoffs, fills the 2C roll, decent defensively. He would just fill that hole and allow Copp to play 3C or the wing where he could excel.
