I doubt Canucks will give up that high of a pick to move Myers but it is possible I guess

No rush on PLD. You must have seen by now that he will be free after next season!

Canucks aren't giving up a 2nd round to move Myers. I've gone over this a million times but he has very little real money owed once his bonus is paid. He is likely to be moved after that bonus is paid or the Canucks will simply run out his deal.

Makes him easier to move to teams on a budget, but his bonus doesn't change his cap hit, so riding out his contract may not be an option. His NTC can also eliminate many of the teams which could easily handle that kind of cap hit.

It took a 1st for Calgary to unload Monahan last season and he also had a 10 team NTC. Not because of his salary, but because Calgary HAD to move his cap hit.
Vancouver is in a similar situation. A 2nd a couple years out is reasonable after his bonus is paid. You can hope he's able to be moved to a budget team, but it simply may not be an option.

Calgary was more desperate to move cap and Monahan hadn't really played much at that point. Myers doesn't miss much time and the Canucks can just ride it out if they have to. Calgary's pick was expected to be a lot higher than the 11th overall pick too.

Vancouver is at $85M with 4 players left to sign.
They need to move cap out somehow.

You're numbers aren't entirely accurate. It includes OEL and Mikheyevs money in the 85 but not in the 19 roster spots. That $85 mill includes 2 players who will start on LTIR and most likely be there all season. That frees up 5.75. So really they have 79.4 million and 21 players. Still not great but definitely manageable.
It's really Calgary thought they could contend for the west after the year they had so they had to add. The Canucks want to contend for a playoff spot so they will do lateral moves to try to get a little better. They won't hurt the future to free cap space. GM Allvin said he's not doing buyouts so they aren't going to hurt the future for cap relief

Okay. Checked again and they have $1.14M in space.
That's with 23 players not including Hoglander or Dermott, Bear and Horse signed ($3.1M total), no raises, and Poolman and Pearson on LTIR.
So perhaps it is possible. Depends who gets raises and whether you're better off letting others go before Myers.
