Mantha is def a Flames type of player. Z is as well, so CGY might instead prefer to send Hanifin or Andersson. You might also consider Lindholm as it seems like he's unhappy

I love Mangiapane but no way in hell am I spending that much on him. He struggled almost as much as Mantha. You can just swap those two players with Caps maybe throwing in a litte more.

Huh? Mantha is extremely lazy, nothing about that screams Flames type player.

Z is probably staying a Fpames but Washington doesn't have the assets to get Andersson and Hanifin would cost a fortune for them.

Where did you get the idea Lindholm was unhappy?

Widely reported in Calgary that Lindholm and Backlund (and likely others) are unhappy in Calgary. Rumors the Flames explored trading them at the deadline. Their exit interviews all but confirmed they are not happy. Flames will likely be exploring trading one or both of them this off season.

As a Flames fan, I would have liked the Mangipane trade simply to get out from under his contract. But now knowing he needed shoulder surgery, I may give him a year to rebound from an off season.

From a Flames fan, love Mang and Zad, but those picks are definitely juicy. Worth considering, but if the Flames are looking to get back into the playoffs while reorganizing, Mantha isn't the type of guy they'd be looking for,

Thats not accurate. At least not for Lindholm. People took the exit interview way put of context

Fair enough - though some of the people taking it out of context were in the media and reported as much. I see where you are coming from though, it wasn't a resounding YES or NO when asked about staying. Weegar hinted Lindholm just wants to be paid!.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with Lindholm for sure though. He's Calgarys most important player in a lot of ways, but you can't let him walk to free agency.

Backlund on the other hand. There is a lot of smoke there about him wanting out. And that's not just coming from the media...

Lindholm was asked the original question towards the start of the interview which is where all the speculation is coming from but further into the interview he was asked to elaborate and he said "its not july 1st yet and we haven't talked, and im still just mad about how the season ended right now."
