Winnipeg still wants to compete, So picks for PLD aren't happening. And Toews will only sign with hometown Winnipeg or retire.

Yes, Winnipeg still wants to compete, otherwise they lose helly and scheifele next year, which means rebuild, which Winnipeg fans do not have an appetite for. I mean, can you blame them? This roster was competing for first in the division just 3 months ago.

Picks for PLD might be possible, but the Jets need to flip those picks to another team for something they need now. Without that in place, yes a PLD for picks or futures move seems unlikely to say the least.

Not sure about toews. Don't think winnipeg is his only destination, but the jets should definitely make a pitch

I have no idea why you suggest Toews to the Habs. I get that he is a great leader but that would only be good for the Habs if they were on the verge of reaching the playoffs and perhaps doing some damage in the playoffs. Montreal is still a few seasons removed from being anywhere close to a threat in the playoffs so bringing in a 35 year old who is two steps slower than he was in his prime is pointless.
