Los Angeles probably takes that for cap reasons. Not sure I would though.

Comes down to this for Sens fans:

Which of these would you rather on opening night:

DeBrincat, Joseph, Sogaard, Brannstrom, and a Patrick Brown/Brassard type guy on the third line.

    Or

Iafallo, Sharangovich, Varlamov, Holtz, and Kleven.

I like this line up , it's a really well rounded top 9... I like the blue line. I just don't like the choice in goal

Don't worry -- we won't be trading Alex Iafallo in some deal where the draft pick is an over-the-horizon second. I'm hoping that Blake manages to find a trade partner who'll give us a player and a 23 second.

I've been seeing alot of LA post just looking to dump him, you don't think this is a decent offer?

No. He's our most underrated player -- an excellent two-way forward who kills penalties and is defensively highly responsible; as shown by his overtime-game-winning goal this series, he has some offensive skill, too. He used to play on our first line with Anze Kopitar but the acquisition of Kevin Fiala and emergence of Adrian Kempe and now Gabe Vilardi have caused him to be shifted around a lot; the fact that the coaching staff have chosed to use him to play up or down the lineup is a measure of his versatility and compatibility.

The reason why you see LA constructions trading Iafallo is due to our cap problem: I won't bore you with the details, but essentially we have to move out one $4 million contract in order to address our needs at #2 LhD (which I don't think that Brannstrom will be) and the vacancy in starting goaltender. So we have basically three choices: move Cal Petersen, at what would certainly be a significant loss, or move Viktor Arvidsson, who is also a fine second-line forward but won't bring back much because he's a rental, or move Iafallo, who would bring back the greatest return. I personally think that Iafallo is worth a 2023 second and a third -- but then again, I'm a Kings fan.

Yes, but (1) he's not projected to be a #2 LhD next season, and (2) he's not coming with a 2023 second, just like I said.
