If I replaced Philly's second with our 1st and keep the trade the same otherwise, how would that look?

I would probably go Carolina's 1st, Philly's 2nd and Morrow. We have a ton of Gunler like prospects in The A so he is not needed and a fifth round pick hardly ever makes the NHL.

That's more along the lines of what I was thinking. I'm not crazy about giving the 1st, 2nd, and Morrow in this trade. But I would do the 1st, Morrow, and another oddball piece like a Gunler, or a later round pick any day.

I think next year could be Carolina's chance to get the cup. (I would say this year, but our forward core is skating on crutches right now). So I don't mind mortgaging some future pieces for talent that has impact right now.

They have a good team. Even goaltending is good. Kochetkov is going to be a very good goalie too. I do think that they are a littole to banged up to beat the Devils, but it all comes down to goal tending in the playoffs.

As for the offer sheet for Laf. I get the feeling that GM's don't like to do that to other teams unless you are Montreal of course. It's a dirty play even if it is within the rules.

heck no. Scheifele doesnt care about defense. he wouldnt be re-signed and such this would be a terrible trade.
