  1. Foligno, Marcus
Additional Details:
ANA just a placeholder. Could be anyone for, let's say, 3rd RD pick and maybe a low B/C prospect kicker.

Love Moose, but his grit can be replaced for cheaper and the Wild need to open spots for skill/youth.
4.
MIN
  1. Wahlstrom, Oliver [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
I assume the gut reaction is easy Isles decline due to Wahly's draft pedigree and potential, but I do think this is more compelling than it will be given credit. May not be accepted, which is fine, but the idea is for NYI to backfill their prospect pool with a 3:1 swap.

Open to adjusting prospects and hearing rebuttals. If your answer is no, offer up some suggestions on what it would take.
NYI
  1. Addison, Calen [RFA Rights]
  2. Firstov, Vladislav
  3. O'Rourke, Ryan
Additional Details:
All high 2nds, all similar aged.

Addison is known.

Firstov just had a very solid 21 year old KHL season, producing similar numbers to Kuzmenko, Nichushkin, Kravstov, Marchenko and Kuznetsov in their 21 YO seasons.

ROR projects as a stable bottom pair guy, with outside chance at top 4 but unlikely.

O’Rourke would have to be someone else, like Marat Khusnutdinov

Appreciate the suggestion. MN obviously doesn't consider that, but that's helpful feedback thank you.

I think the Wahlstrom trade is fair however islanders would not be interested in trading him and with what comes back. Addison is basically Dobson and islanders rather bring back Mayfield or a similar cheaper player than him for the 3rd pairing. Islanders have been trading prospects so I don't think they'd be interested in trading for any. Also, I doubt they are even ready to move on from Wahlstrom yet. Wild most likely have to look elsewhere. They could look into other 1st rd talents that may need a fresh start with a low cap hit like they did with Sam Steel.

Yeah fair point on the utility of Addison. Wasn't sure if Isles were considering trading Wahlstrom or not (or what they'd want back if they were to). Been seeing a lot of proposals involving him, so figured I'd throw out one.

Don't agree with your logic on them not having interest in prospects due to them previously trading some away. That's typically circumstantial on a trade-by-trade basis, and doesn't hold up to enough sound reasoning for my taste. But to each their own on that take.

And yeah you can certainly go for the Steel types, or you can try to look go one level beyond that. Sort of up to preference and tolerance for price. In this case, I obviously went for the latter. Sort of a get what you pay for kinda thing on that.
