Wings make a push with outs

Created by: CJ1909
Team: 2023-24 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: May 5, 2023
Published: May 5, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Wings gain assets to acquire players to plug holes while continuing to rebuild the next 1-2 years:
- Filled 2C, 3C, RHD and RH Fwd depth
- Acquiring younger assets that can be used in the lineup for years to come while out of the rebuild
- If Wings miss playoffs, they have Foligno, Perron and Carter as playoff depth for 2nd-4th round picks.
- Kasper and Mazur stay in GR or maybe get called up at the end of the year but stay under 9 games so they slide their ELC and align with Mo / Ray / Raz extensions
- Murray provides a stop gap for a year as Cossa develops and allows the Wings to get another 2nd pick in the 1st round
- Addison can step in and led one of the worst PPs in the league. Not sure Mo can do this.

Losing Debrincat is better than rolling with the terrible goalies you have in your ACGMs, but to each his own. Your top 6 still can be solid with losing the Cat.

I agree. Im just looking at the two directions we will possibly take this Offseason

I'd be fine with moving Bergy up to line 2 and Copp be 3C with Granlund as LW3. Copp was just a bad signing, he didn't show he was capable of handling 2C really ever in his career.

Thomson is more insurance in the RHD pipeline as Ruuta is on 2 years and could be rotated out. Myers only has 1 year left on his deal and I would take him as well, but his cap wouldn't work in this AGM cuz it's $6M.

Personally I would like to sign Schenn to partner with Edvinsson.
Copp wasn't a bad signing, he had core muscle surgery and that's always tough to come back from. Also he missed all of training camp and preseason so he was just thrown right into it. But he is not a 2C in this league, 3C or 2LW would be best bet.

Wild would veto that trade. Way too much the Wild giving up for not enough return for both Foligno and Addison.

Yes, that was kind of what I was implying, Copp has to be LW2 or 3C and if 3C it is a bad use of cap thus bad signing as he has never shown in his career that he can be a 2C. Now IF he moves to LW2 and puts up 50-65 points I will very happy.
