Description

Team is meant to still be rebuilding, but also have enough veteran talent to ensure Bedard can develop into the superstar potential he has. At the same time retaining cap flexibility not just for Bedard and other prospects, but also for signing a premier FA when the team gets closer to contention.

As constructed with the buyouts going away, the recapture penalty going away and the bad contracts you have $22.1 million in additional cap space for next season so roughly $38-41 million. Some of that will go to RFA's like Reichel and Vlasic, but alot of flexibility moving forward.

Bedard can start on wing and ease into a center role with Domi to help shepherd him on the ice.

It was a worry, but what free agent are you bringing in this class to help with it? The only one besides Domi I like and i don't think the Hawks would commit to him would be Zucker. My thought process if Davidson and this is my team is I kick the tires on AM34 when he hits free agency while still adding probably a top 5 talent next year.

If i had my way, I would package the 19th overall pick and a second rounder to move up to pick up Ryan Leonard. He is the engine on the NTDP's top line. Strong two way payer looks like a top 6 winger who plays at both ends of the ice.
