I highly doubt Niemela gets moved, he is easily our best prospect now that Knies has graduated. I'd expect Hirvonen, Robertson, or even Liljegren to be moved before Topi

I’d like to believe that to but if this organization had concerns over Sandin (5’11 182) and his net front defence, stoping the cycle, what are going to think Niemelä (5’11 168) will do. 🤷‍♂️

My one untouchable rn is Knies as man that kid is gonna be something special.

I know it's easy to trade Niemela over Knies given the fact that Knies has played in the NHL, but I firmly believe that Niemela will be just as (if not more) special than Knies. Niemela is everything the Leafs need on their blueline and more. The kid is one of the most dynamic defensemen I have seen in the Leafs system for a long time. Watching him with the Marlies was such a joy and made me that much more excited. If Arizona asked for Knies in a package to send the Leafs Keller, what would you say? That argument goes both ways.

Niemela is ridiculously good. He will be a top 4 defenseman sooner than later, and a damn good one at that. IMO, Niemela was the single best Dubas draft pick as Leafs GM and could potentially go down as the best draft pick he'll ever make. As much as I hate hyping up prospects, Topi is something special. He is a game changer.

I think the fact that he's an RD gives him the opportunity to burrow a way into the Leafs lineup. Niemela is significantly better defensively than Sandin ever will be, and there is some offensive upside. Really hope no one makes any dumb decisions in regards to Topi, he is exactly what we need

I’m not sure how we can say he is significantly better. I will say something he has over Sandin is better straight line speed, something Sandin struggled with. I personally don’t see a ton of difference between the two.

I wouldn’t lose sleep over it if they moved him for a young C is all.

Got a feeling Dubas gonna hire Tulsky anyways. But if Dubas asked to interview Pridham we would potentially see Shanahan and MLSE create the vice president role and he would be given it lul. Where hes under Shanny but above the GM. Or Shanny would take the Alternate Govoner role and give Pridham president who knows but as of now he is happy here and seems to have little interest in moving

I don’t know anything about Doan as an executive, but he was a pretty darn good player and Matthews really likes him so why not? It’ll be unfortunate if Pridham is gone as a result of this though.

Doan was hired to replace Spezza from what I have heard. As I believe hes not an assistant GM but an assistant to the GM (Kind of like what Pridham was under Lou/Nonis before Dubas made him Assistant GM)

As assistant to the GM and assistant GM are not the same

He has a great shot but isn’t a great player. He would do best on a bottom feeder where he can get PP1 time and enough icetime to allow the other aspects of his game to develop. He needs to work on his skating and defensive play.

Doan really isn’t a contract guy. Leafs have already lost a few coaches and managers this year. At some point I would say enough is enough.

No reports say he’s an assistant GM which would suggest he’s replacing one of the current AGMs. Hopefully not Pridham.
