McCann just dropped 40 goals and has a 5m a year cap hit. He will be untouchable.

I can see a Marner or Nylander to Seattle trade happening, but McCann will not be coming the other way. Maybe Bjorkstrand instead?

2 years of Mitch Marner is worth more, And i don't see Seatlle taking on nearly 2 years of Marner at close to $11,000,000 per either.

I get that McCann is comIng off a career year but he's two or three stratospheres away from being of Marner's calibre and a year older. If he's untouchable for an elite top 5 RW in the league, who consistently flirts with 100 points, is an excellent PKer and Selke nominee, I'd question your team's management in a hurry.

I considered Bjorkstrand instead of Sprong but IMO, we need a high end LW. Currently we have two elite RWs and a revolving cast of bargain bin LWs.

Seattle's expansion draft strategy gave them tons of cap space. Marner is a guy worthy of using it on, if he would re-sign. You may be right about Murray although it only cost Ottawa a 3rd and 7th, and that was with two years remaining as opposed to one.
