Although WPG probably have no interest in this, trying to create a less top heavy team with an upgrade in goal. With some cap space flexibility at TDL to get a need.

The Matthews-Hellebuyuk deal dumps Murray's contract, other assets may need to shift with that as well.

Deslaurier is there to help punch faces.

Yeah. It was more to see how a team may be built without one of the core forwards

In your opinion, hypothetically if Toronto decided to move Matthews. What's a realistic landing spot and return for him.

Creative, a Scheiffelle Marhews swap would make more sense though if the leafs aren't absolutely certain Mathews will extend. His NMC kicks in July first then he holds all the cards.
