If Sam Steel is playing regularly as a top 9 forward for the Wild next season…they would be much smarter to just tank!

Sam Steel, to me, is who you have to be ok with given the extreme pinch salary cap wise. You don’t love him, and he cannot bein the top 6, but if he’ll come back for < $1m, you know he is reliable, can take face offs (not well, but calibrated to the Wild, he’s alright)) and I’d slot him in. But it is that very lineup spot that I would want to see the Walker’s, Beckman’s and Petan’s see time. Nyquist with Rossi gives a solid chance for success I think, and then try to find who else can be productive on that line.

If Steel will sign for the minimum (preferably a 2way deal)…sure.
